As the shades of 1994 come down, I believe we must all enter a time of reflection and not panic…

One of my great mentors from the ‘80s took me aside and advised; “When you’re confronted with an issue of urgency, never give an urgent response in return. No, go away and think about it. Talk it over with your trusted friends and find a resolution. You might regret it otherwise!”
That time is upon us fellow Celts, and wise, calm heads need to prevail over those who are blowing an understandable gasket.
I’ve made my position clear over the last few weeks and agree we need to take steps to protect a courtesy the Supporters deserve; an attentive, listening ear from the decision makers.
The supporters are the lifeblood of the club, and frank and honest dialogue is the least we deserve after decades of tithing. Much of that tithing had come at a fiscal and time-consuming cost to many families, but still we give.

Celtic supporters, not customers, have always provided unwavering support to our club, and to the players who have entertained us.
Now, it is time to demand similar from the men to whom we have provided luxury lifestyles. I don’t care a jot if they have heated driveways, or cellars brimming with fine wines. Good luck to them!
I do care that they have accumulated their wealth at the expense of honest and decent men and women who have dug deep over many years to keep them in their place of privilege, and in return, a top-class football team.
Are we seeing that right now? Do we have such a team? No, we are being shafted.
To send back an allegedly AI generated, ‘eff you’ to those providers of wealth is a damned disgrace.
I’d say they should be ashamed of themselves, but you need to have a conscience to recognize that inherent flaw.

So, where do we go from here? The club members around the world have spoken and slapped them with a ‘No Confidence’ vote. What does that mean?
First, it means we demand that they sell up and hand over the reins to someone more capable, and less self-seeking!
Of course, we are minions to the bean-counters; we matter not a jot. They are all-powerful, and some of my allies have been given short shrift in a bid to bring the club into the 21st century with their financial input.
No amount of fan power can oust them, unless they hold an extraordinary AGM. Their shareholding may well nullify that route.

Many are suggesting we down tools in the European (second tier) stage, don’t purchase tickets, don’t buy merch, and starve the blighters out.
However, with the new players who have been recruited, (no laughing at the back!), should we hang them out to dry on the biggest stage they have ever performed on?
Celtic fans have an affinity with our players other clubs can only dream of. Should we walk away and leave them to it as they bust a gut to fulfil our dreams, and bring us success?
Or, should we attend the matches, but batter down their doors again, this time with strong words rather than plastic fish, before, and after, every event?

The former would leave the grand old stadium bereft of atmosphere, and possibly motivation for the players in Europe. Yes, I remember the Ronny Deila days.
The latter would be lapped up by the ‘succulent lamb’ media, and our beloved rivals.
What a conundrum, but something has to give. What shall it be Bhoys and Ghirls?
Hail Hail!

Celtic in the Eighties – Out Now!…
Celtic in the Eighties by the late, great David Potter is out now on Celtic Star Books. Celtic in the Eighties is now available in the Celtic superstore and all other club shops. And don’t forget that you can still purchase your copy directly from Celticstarbooks.com for same day postage.

No shifting now , boycott all europa league games , don’t be there to be heard , those players will get another chance, let’s go all in here , and if we still are not satisfied with that , dare I say it , boycott away games next , the board need to know that we are serious, can’t bare to think off what we can do next ie boycott home games ????
I think, even with a calm approach, that short term pain is long term gain. I don’t care what the tabloids print. And I know it will affect the players. However, change must happen. And the only way that this lot will listen and accept it has gone too far to remain the custodians is with not buying merch, unsubscribing from any email other than necessary from the club and perhaps less fans at matches. I think what would embarrass them is what would affects fbaf change. HH
Gave up upon the workings of the board after the 10iar/ covid season. Put myself through so much anger and disappointment in what was created to keep huns relevant.
Sustainability has been replaced by sheer greed at that level within the club, which sickens me to the pit of my stomach.
Main reason I couldn’t care less about the workings of the PLC.
So remain focused upon the footballing department, despite how closely they are linked, even if the strongest power remains within the PLC, backed up by extreme wealth.
Do believe Rodgers, when the sack the board campaign started, meant sack the manager? Fail to see any other outcome, especially as the board will have to react, especially after the reaction of weekend events imo?
So despite winning 9 out of 12 trophies available within Scottish football, we haven’t managed to crack the highest level of European football, despite showing signs of becoming competitive at the highest level.
Our team under Rodgers hit its maximum levels in Munich last season. Since then 6 of our bigger matches have been playing, including 2 Glasgow Derby, which we haven’t managed to win, despite facing far inferior opposition. Throw in just how schooled we were in pre season against ajar?
So to think that we were looking to be a CL team, under Rodgers with his 1 dimensional style of play in operation, was a step to far imo. Even moreso when the sustainability within the core group wasn’t as strong as it once was. This despite the amount of money invested into getting the likes in place for ourselves. The profits made are nothing more than a smoke screen imo.
Rodgers record in European football is poor, despite given an elite manager status. Would help if we were actually capable of winning a European match away from home, but actually a knockout game at European level?
Despite that, there is still the chance in changing that this season. The behavior of so many of our support currently, I would regard as given up the fight of this season upon the pitch before it’s even begun.
The levels of disrespect towards our manager, along with current players and writing off new additions already is something that doesn’t sit well with myself whatsoever.
I am nothing more than a supporter, which includes supporting decision making, taken by the powers to be, including Rodgers, that aren’t to my particular liking. The alternative is to behave like a spoilt brat, and rather give that one a miss these days.
So I won’t be part of this so called revolution, due to the amount of disrespect that will generate onto the representatives in our jersey, who we are meant to be actually supporting.
If Rodgers becomes the first casualty of the revolution, and fail to see any other outcome presently, then so be it, but could understand the likes upon footballing terms.
No way, am I prepared to be part of a lynch mob that involves running people out of our club.
Taylor and Idah scapegoats, Rodgers potentially next, along with just how many more in the making?
A club open to all, is rapidly getting replaced by a club only open to those of our own particular liking. Applies in the boardroom for years, but letting it transpire into the areas and those we are meant to be supporting?
Not something I personally would want to be part of, especially when nothing has been actually really lost this season?
CL last 16 is potentially the best we could ever expect to gain.
Winning the europa league isn’t beyond our capabilities, but seems we have already given up on that particular fight before it’s even begun?
