The Celtic View is the oldest official club magazine/newspaper in football. Launched on 11 August 1965, the publication enabled Celtic to present their own point of view on various matters and also allowed the board to foster a relationship with the support, who had become disenchanted with the then Chairman Robert Kelly.
Starting as a newspaper, circulation figures averaged 26,000 in the Stein era as supporters enjoyed a level of coverage that was rarely afforded to the Hoops in the Scottish press. The newspaper operated as a weekly production, becoming a magazine in later years and maintaining its status as the best selling football club publication in the UK.
An iconic feature of Celtic supporting life, the View was sadly withdrawn from the shelves during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the official club magazine is now back for the 2021/22 season, and is set to become a 100-page quarterly magazine.
