The Celts On International Duty Tonight

Celtic fans will be holding their collective breaths as the final fixtures of the international break are played tonight. The Celts on international duty have come through unscathed (touchwood) so far, in stark contrast to the disastrous injury list that emerged last time around, and a number of the club’s players are in action again tonight.

Scotland head to the Faroe Islands, knowing victory will secure them a place in the World Cup Play Offs. Callum McGregor and David Turnbull are set to be part of Steve Clarke’s squad; whilst in the same group, Nir Bitton’s Israel know nothing less than a win will do when they host Moldova.

Alongside that trio of recent starters, Kyogo Furuhashi could find himself facing one of his Celtic teammates, as Japan take on Tom Rogic’s Australia at the Saitama Stadium. Meanwhile, the sixth first team pick in line to play for his country this evening is Carl Starfelt. His Swedish team host Greece, and victory could see them leapfrog Spain at the top of the group.

In terms of the wider squad, Albian Ajeti returns to the Switzerland set up for their match in Lithuania, with Conor Hazard named in the Northern Ireland squad for the trip to Bulgaria.
