The route to The Scottish Cup Final: Celtic 5 Greenock Morton 0

Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic go into this Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final knowing that a win against Inverness CT will deliver a World Record amount of Trebles. The Scottish Champions will conclude their Scottish Cup campaign against Championship opposition and the Celts kicked off their campaign against second flight opponents.

Celtic sealed progression to the next Fifth Round of the competition after a thumping win over Dougie Imrie’s Morton.

On a game that should’ve been relatively straight forward, Morton were bright to start with. Celtic, however, roared into the game when Aaron Mooy scored from the spot.

It was a harsh interpretation of the handball rule by Kevin Clancy but the midfielder made no mistake. Goals from Kyogo (2) and Turnbull made it 4-0 before half time.

The Scottish Champions were in total control and Liel Abada was a constant thorn. Mooy made it 5-0 with six minutes remaining after a cutback from Sead Haksabanovic.

Celtic: Hart; Johnston, Starfelt (Lawal 87’), Kobayashi, Bernabei; McGregor (Iwata 45’), Mooy, Turnbull (O’Riley 77’); Abada (Forrest 59’), Kyogo (Haksabanovic 45’), Maeda.

Next up for Celtic in their quest for silverware was St Mirren.
