‘There’s the house toilet wrecked’ Captain Bluebeard, ‘I’m raging Rangers (sic)’

NEIL LENNON threw his critics under a bus at Ibrox this afternoon after a tactical masterclass against bookies favourites the Rangers. Goals from Odsonne Edouard and Jonny Hayes gave Lennon’s side the three points in the Glasgow Derby and proved quite a few people wrong in their assessment of Lenny and his team.

“I’m so proud. I’m proud of the team. I thought it was an outstanding performance again,” the Celtic manager said.

“Everyone has written us off. We’ve had a difficult couple of weeks where myself, the board, the players have been written off so early.

“We don’t believe the noise, we don’t believe the hype.

“And we’ve come here and performed an outstanding masterclass in how to play in a Derby here.

“We were on the front foot from the start. We dominated the first-half and weren’t really in any trouble.

“Allan McGregor kept Rangers in it from the scoreline being 3 or 4 today. Maybe now people will cut us a bit of slack and respect us.

“We knew coming here and Rangers in great form and we were in great form but we felt we had the quality.

“New players were coming in and bedding in,” the Celtic manager told Sky Sports.

Summer signings Christopher Jullien and Bolingoli had outstanding games – the Frenchman was given the Man of the Match award yet both were left out of that fateful game against Cluj which caused so much of the recent angst.

Yet if Lennon got his tactics and team selection all wrong that night the reverse was true this afternoon as his game-plan left Gerrard’s side with no opportunities at all to seriously threaten Fraser Forster in the Celtic goals.

Now the attention turns to the transfer window which closes tomorrow at 5pm and the Celtic manager plans to be busy. Greg Taylor will sign with both Jack Hendry and Calvin Miller likely to be heading to Rugby Park and Anthony Ralston should join St Johnstone.

Craig Gordon’s comments ahead of today’s match suggest that he’ll be looking to move while Neil Lennon is looking to bring in one other signing, other that Taylor who will be an excellent addition.

Fingers crossed on that one folks.
