The Wizard of Oz retires – Thanks Tom, for so many wonderful memories

All the best Tom, thanks for so many wonderful memories…

Tom Rogic today announced his retirement form football at the age of 30. Tom has taken the decision to bow out it the game in order to spend time with his young family and it’s a decision everyone will fully understand.

Tom will always have a very special place in our hearts, after securing his place in Celtic folklore making 273 appearances for the club scoring 46 goals and winning an incredible 16 honours. He scored so many important goals for the club, in derby games and in cup finals, none more so than the incredible winner that secured a unique, remarkable and historic Invincible Treble in 2017.

That goal is fondly remembered by most Celtic supporters including myself as the most remembered and unforgettable goal in our Celtic supporting lives. It still gives us goosebumps when we watch it back.

Tom went on a mazy run in the final minute of that tense cup final against Aberdeen. He was the coolest man in the stadium as he finished with calmness and class as we secured an unprecedented Invincible treble. That was Tom to a tee. Class and calmness personified. We were lucky to have seen Tom don the hoops. What a player he was, all the best to you and your lovely family in your retirement Tom. You fully deserve all the joy and happiness in the world because that’s exactly what you gave to the Celtic support.

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
