‘They all love him’, Kewell’s Rogic verdict as new club hunt continues

Celtic coach Harry Kewell has said that everyone around the club loves Tom Rogic as he says that he is ‘baffled’ as to why the 29-year-old hasn’t signed for a new club. After nine years at Celtic, Rogic left as a Champion convincing the club to allow him to exit a year before the end of his deal. Although, after bowing out of Paradise in May, Rogic is still without a club. Kewell’s comments echo a lot of our thoughts.

Speaking to Fox Sport, Kewell said that he wants the playmaker to be back playing ahead of the World Cup this winter.

“You mention Tom Rogic around Celtic and they all love him.

“He was a player that a lot of his teammates respected. They enjoyed playing with him.

“I’m a little bit baffled to know what’s happening with him. I hope he sorts himself out and I hope he’s ready. because I’m sure he wants to be there (in Qatar for the World Cup).

“I’m sure he wants to be part of it, but it’s going to be down to him. He needs to be right mentally and physically if he wants to be part of this Australian squad.”

The Wizard of Oz was a big game player, he was able to turn games with a flick of the switch. This season especially, he has been brilliant. His late assist in Dingwall stands out. The player was able to make a decision about his future and it is telling that Celtic respected his wishes as the player looks to take his next step after Paradise.

Rogic was signed for just $400k Australian dollars and has proven to be priceless, conjuring up some incredible moments in his time with the club. Tam has scored 44 times and assisted 47 times in his time at the club but brings so much to the team, bringing the best out in his teammates.
