Ange Postecoglou has been giving an injury update at his Media Conference this afternoon, and the positive interpretation put on comments last night in his Celtic TV interview relating to extent of Callum McGregor’s may have been somewhat over optimistic. The Celtic manager tried to clear that up today and it looks like the Celtic captain is indeed looking likely being sidelined for a considerable number of weeks.
“It wasn’t just concussion, he obviously got a significant facial injury. We’ll give him the time he needs to recover. I said yesterday he was feeling better, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a serious injury,” Ange told today’s Media Conference ahead of the cinch Premiership match tomorrow evening against Hearts at Tynecastle.
“I’m not going to put a timescale on it, I’m not in the medical profession. At the moment all we’re concerned about is Callum McGregor the person. This is not just about football, he’s had a significant injury. We just want to make sure he recovers and feels good.”
Alloa midfielder Mouhamed Niang has been cited by the Scottish FA for his tackle on Celtic's Yosuke Ideguchi.

On Ideguchi’s situation after that horrendous challenge he had to endure against Alloa. “Quite obvious it was a significant injury, although it could have been a hell of a lot worse. Disappointing that he’s had to deal with that,” Ange said as has been reported by Go Radio reporter Jo Hendry.
The better news from today’s Media Conference – more on that to follow of course – is that Liel Abada has come through the Alloa assault course and is fit enough to play at Tynecastle if selected.

Liel Abada is fine for Hearts. Ideguchi and McGregor out.
