It’s time for Adam Idah to step up, starting tonight he is the number one striker at Celtic, that’s now his to lose ahead of a Kyogo replacement arriving…

Tonight Celtic face Aston Villa in as the final game of the Champions League group stages come to a rather spectacular conclusion, and despite being assured of a place in the knockout rounds, we still want to see a positive performance and result.
CCV injured, Daizen suspended
It’s going to be difficult as we will be without the injured Cameron Carter-Vickers and the suspended Daizen Maeda, while it will also be our first game since Kyogo’s transfer to Rennes.

But we still have the ability to get something out of the game, and one man who needs to step up and prove his worth is Adam Idah. Signed for £9.5 million, the Irishman has yet to fully justify that fee, and with Kyogo now gone, he needs to step up and start producing the goods, starting tonight.
Adam Idah has his own attributes
We will miss Kyogo’s ability there’s no doubt about that. His enthusiasm and ability to stretch defences, and his eye for goal will sorely missed, and Adam has got his own attributes and he has to fill that gap, starting straight away.
He may not have those same qualities, but he can offer us a different dimension such as his hold up play, and his strength, he’s also knows where the goal is, as he proved at the business end of last season. Idah started in Atalanta so may well have been in the manager’s thoughts for tonight anyway. He is now going to lead the line for a number of games and the ball is firmly in his own court to justify the jersey.

With Kyogo’s departure leaving a huge gaping hole in our attacking output, and no sign of a replacement, Adam is tasked with filling that void, not just for tonight, but possibly for the rest of the season. It’s high time he stepped up and proved his worth, it’s ever so vital to us that he does.
The position could well suit Idah and the extra minutes he is going to get will help too. What he needs is a few goals to kick-start his time as Celtic’s first pick striker. Over to you Adam!
