Given the summary of last night’s meeting between the club and the Celtic supporters groups it seems pretty clear that nothing will be done to improve things by Celtic. So surely it’s now time for the various supporters groups – under the umbrella of the Celtic Fans Collective – to think of the next steps…

The much anticipated meeting between the Celtic supporters groups and a delegate of the clubs hierarchy took place last night, and by all accounts it was very much a massive waste of everyone’s time, not that we should be at all surprised.
Like myself you’ve most likely read the statement released today by the Celtic Fan Collective, and whilst everyone involved were undoubtedly trying their best to put the points and opinions of the supporters across, you just know that it fell on very deaf ears.

Celtic Chairman Peter Lawwell himself wasn’t present, but CEO Michael Nicolson and CFO Chris McKay were there along with a number of other club figures, but they most likely just sat still nodding their heads and twiddling their thumbs under the table pretending to be interested whilst thinking about what they were having for supper.
This meeting was nothing more than a mere token gesture by our money men, trying to avoid more bad feeling and the publicity that comes with it, by looking like they are taking a genuine interest in the opinions of the supporters.
But genuine is not a word in their vocabulary, as they have never shown any interest regarding the opinions or feelings of the support in the past, and they sure as hell won’t change that trait going forward. A leopard never changes it spots as they say.

Next on the agenda from the Celtic Fans Collective and all the supporters groups involved must be to arrange a get-together, and thrash out plans for the next step in our bid for change, development and improvement in everything Celtic does. Michael Nicholson has previously aspired to achieve world class status in everything that Celtic does but as fast as as much supporters can see he’s only managing to reach those lofty levels when it comes to gaslighting the fans.
If Dermot, Peter, Michael, Chris and the rest of the suits think that we are going to disappear, then they had better think again. This is not the end, it’s just the beginning.
