Time to talk about the Time Added on Talk that has So Angered Chick Young & Co

SCOTT BROWN rubbed it into the watching hordes who were all sitting praying for a St Patrick’s Day Miracle at Dens Park and thought that their decision to sit and watch Celtic play at Dundee was a worthwhile way to spend their Sunday afternoon – until disaster struck for them in the 96th minute of the match.

It will John Beaton – at Dundee without his Ayr Utd escort – who was the Fourth official with the responsibility of putting up that board to indicate added time.

Long forgotten was the fact that there were FIVE minutes added at Ibrox the day before as their own team drew with Kilmarnock. There was no dramatic winner there, but they certainly had the added time to try for it.

These late show winners from Celtic have started to have a rather unhealthy impact on the Hordes. One of them reckons that the additional time added has been to Celtic’s unfair advantage in the league race and has calculated the league table had all games ended on 90 minutes (nothing said about them getting FOUR penalties in the one game and stuff like that though).

“We just keep pushing,” Broony said to Sky TV, before acknowledging the fact that he knew that the Hordes has been watching – a glorious St Patrick Day thought from the Celtic skipper who yesterday chalked up his 650th appearance for the Hoops.

“There will have been a lot of people watching that game today hoping we were going to drop points, but it wasn’t going to happen due to James Forrest and Odsonne Edouard.

“It showed our fitness. We kept going until the last minute and we still believed. We’ve got top-quality players on the pitch who are going to score goals.

“We always have faith they’re going to put the ball in the back of the net.”

On Twitter last night one Celtic support kindly explained where the 6 minutes of added time came from, this was after ‘St Mirren supporter’ Chick Young raged about it on the BBC, preferring to talk about that than the fact Celtic had won the match in dramatic circumstances to go TEN points clear.

Of course the late goal was good news for CELTIC supporters and therefor BAD news for the Rangers supporters watching. However in the context of the relegation battle it was great news for anyone who supports ST MIRREN! – That’s you Chick, right?

“6 minutes added on was absolutely correct. Dundee disappointment understandably, at losing. However Jim McIntyre was wrong to question the amount of stoppage time.

“The 3 head knocks accounted for 3.35 of stoppage and 5 subs before 90 minutes added 2.30. Total 6.05.”

“It should be kind of difficult to argue with visual proof. The clock on each image proves beyond any doubt the added on time was correct.”

Jim McIntrye, the Dundee manager’s disappointment was obvious. “It was a real surprise,” he said to Sky.

“I asked the fourth official, John Beaton, and he explained the referee felt there were three head knocks as well as the substitutes.

“We never seem to get six minutes added on when we are looking for it. I found it strange to say the least.

“I don’t want to make too much of that. In the last two minutes we had a great opportunity and we have to do better. Celtic break from that and score.”

Yes we did Jim, that’s why we’re CHAMPIONS!
