Today’s Celtic Fan Media Conference Video – “I’ve not done that yet and I can’t wait for it,” David Turnbull

David Turnbull spoke to The Celtic Star and others from the Celtic fan media this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s pre-season friendly against Bristol City as preparations for the Champions League showdown with FC Midtjylland intensify.

Sandwiched in between these two game is the home friendly at Celtic Park late on Saturday afternoon when Preston North End visit Paradise, hopefully with Scotty Sinclair in the team. This game is significant because there will be 2000 lucky Celtic Supporters in attendance and they will be sure to give the Invincible wide-man a tremendous reception and we may even hear them sing the beautiful, wonderful song as tribute to an incredibly successful playing career wearing the Hoops.

David Turnbull reckons that the return of the support to games is going to be a tremendous benefit to the players who clearly missed the backing of the fans at matches last season.

Asked whether he was looking forward to playing in-front of the Celtic support Turnbull was emphatic in his response. “I’ve not done that yet and I can’t wait for it,” he said. Turnbull also gave the clearest hint yet that Callum McGregor will be leading the team this season as the Celtic captain and he condemned the racist abuse that was suffered by the three English players Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho & Bukayo Saka on Sunday night after missing penalties in the European Championship Final shoot-out against Italy at Wembley.

Plenty of questions about training, working under Ange Postecoglou and whether the new system and style of play will suit his own game. Hear what David Turnbull had to say to all this and more on his Celtic Fan Media Conference which you can watch below…
