Martin O’Neill admitted Tomas Cvancara was left frustrated despite Celtic coming away with all three points against Dundee…

The Czech forward endured a difficult afternoon, struggling to make an impact and missing opportunities in what proved to be a disappointing individual display.
The 25-year-old has found goals hard to come by since arriving at the Scottish champions in January, with only one from open play which came back in early February against Falkirk.

Although handed a starting role by O’Neill, he was later replaced by Kelechi Iheanacho, whose late intervention ultimately secured the victory for Celtic.

Speaking post-match, Martin O’Neill said via PLZ Soccer: “Yeah, naturally he was pretty down there, even though we had the win. He was down because he needs to score.”
“In his mind, he needs to score a goal. Some of the chances that he had today, I think he could have easily had two. And it becomes frustrating, because no matter what you say, centre-forwards are those things. They thrive on scoring goals.”
“The confidence is big when you put the ball in the net. And so it’s a frustrating time for him today.”
When asked whether he knows his best team, O’Neill replied: “The confidence is big when you put the ball in the net. And so it’s a frustrating time for him today.”
“We’ve changed things around, just always trying to get some sort of balance. Players coming in, for instance, in the first half, I thought Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was fantastic. Played really well.”

“Still trying to get up to speed for the games. And I think the SPFL in many aspects has surprised him at the speed of the game, of what it can be. But he was getting a bit tired.”
“Or so I thought, anyway. But I thought his first-half performance was really terrific. Being able to come out of tight situations, being able to thread things through, I thought he did really well.”
“In a sense, we have changed things around. And it is. We have a few players we feel are quite similar in many aspects.”

Thought the feature of the game yesterday, was another added to the growing list of matches, where the game should have been over as a contest by half time imo?
We have become a team, unable to finish teams off, without that clinical edge within our game.
However, yet again our character and spirit within our squad, gets ourselves over the line, with a valuable 3 points.
We haven’t been able to find that right balance within our game, hence such inconsistencies, which can tend to happen during halves of matches this season imo?
Even next weekend, we will potentially head into the match, without knowing what our best starting team is going to be?
It hardly helps matters, when we still don’t know what our strongest starting team is going to be at this stage of the season, and seems to be changed on a week by week basis at present?
Gave up months ago, that our strongest starting team isn’t going to be in operation this season, which hardly helps with finding that consistency factor we have been missing so badly.
So this run in, is going to be about character shown by ourselves, despite playing catch up football, for the best part of this season to date imo?
Even that’s been questionable at times throughout this season admittedly. But it has got ourselves over the line on many occasions also this season.
Still believe that our club holds the best character factor within our team at present, which potentially leaves ourselves in the strongest position for this title run in imo?
The quality factor may have been missing throughout this season, but it’s not totally dead within our team. That would improve if we can find that clinical edge to our game, which needs to be added within this run in.
If we can finally start to find that balance, between the character, quality and clinical, then nothing to suggest that another double won’t be achieved imo?
Frustrated you say ! No he is just absolutely dreadful. Who the fuck scouted him. Couldn’t hit a barn door at 6 yards.
