Anthony Joseph at Sky Sports has posted an update on the Adam Idah situation this morning.

The Ireland international striker is wanted by Brendan Rodgers and the player himself is eager to return to Glasgow on a permanent contract after his hugely successful loan spell ended after his 90th minute winner in the Scottish Cup Final against theRangers at Hampden on 25 May.
Now the Sky Sports man reveals that despite Celtic’s keen interest in signing the striker, they all have to be patient as the new Norwich City manager Johannes Hoff Thorup wants to assess Ida in pre-season before making a decision on the Celtic target’s future.
Joseph states: “Celtic are keen to pursue a permanent deal for Norwich City striker Adam Idah. There was no option-to-buy clause in his loan deal. New Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup plans to assess Idah in pre-season before making a decision on his future.”

The one factor that the Sky Sports man doesn’t take into account in this brief update is the player’s wishes and if Idah returns to Norwich for pre-season and tells his new manager that he wants to sign for Celtic then that really only ends one way. Johannes Hoff Thorup can hardly hope to build his goalscoring ambitions around a player who wants away and knows that the money from Celtic could be re-invested in players he wants to sign to build his own team for another season in the Championship.
The biggest factor could actually be the Norwich valuation for Idah which will have risen substantially because of his success at Celtic. Remember he couldn’t buy a start at Norwich last season. There’s likely to be a cap on Celtic’s valuation and maybe Norwich will find that unacceptable?

Hopefully a deal is reached but it could take a while, maybe even well into August before Adam Idah gets his way and signs for Celtic.
And Sky Sports have updated this story on air while also discussing the latest on Celtic’s negotiations with Benfica surrounding the transfer fee for Paulo Bernardo who like Idah wants to return to Celtic on a permanent deal after his own loan move also ended after the Scottish Cup Final triumph, where the Portuguese midfielder got the assist for Idah’s winner.
