Transfer Latest: Celtic agree £850k deal to sign midfielder

Celtic have reportedly agreed a £850k deal to sign Hyeok-kyu Kwon from Busan IPark. Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has confirmed that the teams have agreed a deal with personal terms also having been finalised on a long-term deal that will see the player join the Scottish Champions.

Brendan Rodgers has already added Marco Tilio and Odin Thiago Holm to his side as he looks to strengthen given the losses of Aaron Mooy and Jota. Celtic will be joined by Hyeok-kyu Kwon in Japan as Rodgers’ side take on Yokohama F Marinos and Gamba Osaka. Kwon’s compatriot Hyun-jun Yang is also expected to join up.

Elsewhere, Joseph has suggested that Celtic could end up entering talks to sign Moi Elyounoussi, but only after they and the player have reviewed their options later in the window.

Celtic are believed to be targeting further recruits in attacking areas of the pitch as well as a central defender but the manager is keen to trim the squad ahead of the new season, which will see players on the periphery of the squad moved on.
