Two Teams are Up – Both Celtic sides to face Sheffield Wednesday but no sign of Griffiths

Ange Postecoglou has named his first two Celtic starting elevens for the game against Sheffield Wednesday which kicks off at 3pm this afternoon and is available to watch via the Pass to Paradise for Season Ticket Holders and on Celtic TV for non-STH supporters.

The first big stand-out is that there is no sign of Leigh Griffiths in either of the teams. The striker signed a contract extension last week amid uncertainty of whether the club would opt to retain his services for this season. Perhaps he’s picked up an injury or something? Or could be a sub?

The first Celtic side will play for 2 x 30 minutes periods while the second side will play for the last half hour.

James Forrest is also missing, he’s back home in Scotland self isolating after coming into contact with a positive Covid case and Chris Jullien remains at Lennoxtown still in the recovery process from his knee injury. Hopefully both are back shortly.

The Scotland Bhoys will be joining the action later in the pre-season but will sit out today.
