Unique Angle – Holders Celtic score five against Boroughmuir in Scottish Cup

Fran Alonso’s Celtic FC Women side is a step closer to Hampden this morning after a comfortable 5-0 win in Edinburgh yesterday lunchtime against Boroughmuir Thistle. The Celtic manager asked his players for an early goal inside the first ten minutes and Tegan Bowie duly delivered with nine minutes to spare!

A penalty on 18 minutes was slotted home by Chloe Craig with a minimum of fuss and a third by Celtic Academy graduate Maria McAneny on 32 minutes gave Celtic a 3-0 lead at the interval and put the tie as a contest to bed.

Craig got her second of the match on 64 minutes before Liv Fergusson got on the scoresheet near the end as the English forward starts to gain some momentum wearing the Hoops.
