Alex Valle moves to Como as his Celtic loan from Barcelona is terminated. This can mean only one thing, the Kieran Tierney deal must be close…

Alex Valle has had his loan deal terminated and will now move to Italian side Como. Valle signed on a one year loan deal from Barcelona and despite not playing regularly he looked like a player with great potential. Brendan Rodgers had committed Celtic to provide game-time to the on-loan Barcelona talent but due to changing circumstances the Celtic manager felt he could no longer fulfil his side of the bargain.
Accordingly Barcelona agreed to a separate deal with Italian side Como, as was reported several weeks ago. Alex Valle leaving Celtic therefore can only mean that a deal to bring Kieran Tierney to the club before the end of the window is now very close to completion.

It’s all but been confirmed that KT will sign a pre-contract agreement in the summer, but hopes were high that an agreement could be struck to bring him in on a loan this window, and with the news that Valle has left the building, it looks likely KT will be returning to Celtic Park before the transfer window slams shut.

With Greg Taylor the only option at left back, it would be extremely foolish for the club not to strengthen that position, and Brendan will be confident that he will gets his target in. And that target as everyone knows is Kieran Tierney.
With Jota returning to strengthen our squad, the return of KT will only further boost our ranks, although we still need a striker. Fabrizio Romano interestingly enough revisited the Kieran Tierney situation on his social media channels this afternoon. The transfer expect reported:
“After Jota, Kieran Tierney will also return to Celtic as verbal agreement on free transfer is reached as revealed. If Arsenal do not let him leave now, Tierney will join Celtic in the summer transfer window,” Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano also reported on the Alex Valle situation saying:

“Exclusive: Como have reached verbal agreement to sign Alex Valle from Barça! Story revealed two weeks ago now done deal as loan to Celtic will be broken (with Tierney to join now or July), waiting on all documents.Loan from Barça, €6m exit clause available. Medical booked,” Fabrizio Romano
Valle is also pictured in a Como shirt so it certainly looks clear that his time at Celtic has ended.
Valle is a tidy player and one who given time could have been a real success for Celtic working under Brendan Rodgers. The very best of luck to the boy at Como and whatever follows for him. At Celtic he became a Champions League player and a won a medal playing his part in Celtic’s Premier Sports League Cup final win over theRangers.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
Jota spoke to The Celtic Star and a few other Celtic fan media sites today at Celtic Park. Conor Spence from The Celtic Star asked the first three questions today…

This seems a bit optimistic on the KT front considering we let Kyogo go with a direct replacement deal in place
People forget that we do have Scales who IS a left back.
Taylor is going to leave regardless. If he was staying, he would have signed before this.
Scales can play left back too.
So not as cut and dried yet
