Celtic and Stuttgart are in discussions over expanding ticket allocations for visiting supporters ahead of their upcoming Europa League tie, following an overwhelming demand from German fans for the first-leg fixture…
The Scottish champions are set to host the Bundesliga side at Celtic Park in the first leg of their play-off clash later this month, before travelling to Germany for the return match.
Under standard UEFA regulations, both clubs are required to provide at least five per cent of their stadium capacity to travelling supporters – roughly 3,000 tickets in this case, given that both Celtic Park and Stuttgart’s MHPArena hold around 60,000 spectators.
However, Stuttgart received an extraordinary 30,000 ticket applications from their supporters within just 24 hours of opening the request process for the trip to Glasgow, prompting the club to seek talks with Celtic over a possible increase in away tickets.
Celtic are also expected to face significant demand from supporters for the second leg in Stuttgart – the same venue where Scotland were eliminated from Euro 2024 by Hungary two summers ago.
Officials from both clubs are now working to reach an agreement that could see larger travelling contingents for both fixtures, with a formal decision anticipated in the coming days.

We saw it with the Utrecht fans dominating the noise at the recent game and in knock-out European football we need to make sure that Paradise is ours to make some noise for the Bhoys. That happens more successfully with the Green Brigade at the game.
In other news, the SPFL has confirmed a new date for Aberdeen’s postponed fixture against Celtic following Wednesday night’s postponement at Pittodrie.
The Premiership clash was postponed after heavy rainfall left the pitch unplayable, forcing fourth official Greg Soutar to call off the match just hours before kick-off.
Aberdeen chief executive Alan Burrows revealed that a month of continuous wet weather had severely affected the playing surface, making it unsafe for the game to proceed.
The league has now rescheduled the fixture for Wednesday, 4th March, with the match set to retain its original 8pm start time. Sky Sports will continue to televise the encounter.
The new date means Celtic will play three away matches in quick succession, with the Aberdeen trip coming just days after an away league match at Ibrox on 1st March and potentially ahead of a Scottish Cup quarter-final the following weekend.
