Viaplay confirm details for Celtic’s trip to Rugby Park

Viaplay Sports have confirmed that Celtic’s game against Kilmarnock in the Last 16 of the League Cup will be played on Sunday 20th August. The holders were drawn against Derek McInnes’ side in yesterday’s draw but face the potentially tricky trip down to Ayrshire to face the artificial pitch at Rugby Park.

Rugby Park has always been a tricky away venue, no more so since the Ayrshire club decided to put down their plastic pitch. Brendan Rodgers will be keen to continue his impressive run, and ability to win against McInnes.

Rodgers won three League Cups in a row during his first spell in charge and he set the standard with regards to the club’s attitude towards the trophy, which has resulted in an astonishing six cup wins in seven years.
