Video: 50 Years Ago Today, Bobby Lennox Scores A Belter As Celtic Record Thumping Win At Ibrox

50 years ago today, Celtic supporters had great cause for celebration as their team cruised to a thumping 3-0 victory at Ibrox. A similar result at the same ground, 50 years on, would be most welcome this weekend!

It was on this day back in in 1971 that Bobby Lennox blasted home a 30 yard strike, rounding off the scoring after Dalglish and Callaghan had already given the Celts a two goal cushion.

The result ensured Celtic remained top of the League Cup group, whilst laying down a marker for the season ahead. Let’s hope Ange Postecoglou’s side can do something similar tomorrow!
