Video: Albania president Ilir Meta celebrates his first goal in Paradise

Who’d have say this one coming, eh?

Not only were Celtic playing in broad daylight at Celtic Park, at 3:30pm on a Tuesday afternoon in a European tie… but the president of Albania came along in fine voice to support Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Ilir Meta has reportedly been a huge fan of Celtic ever since watching the Hoops play against Partizani Tirana in 1979, supposedly signing off texts with ‘hail hail’ and knowing every single word to You’ll Never Walk Alone.

It was questioned whether he would even see Celtic score after a dour first-half.

But as Jota sprayed a ball over the top into the path of the gleeful Kyogo Furuhashi, the Japan international tucked it away with conviction to send president Meta into raptures upon his visit to Paradise.

Yet another wild moment, but it was good to see Meta cheering on the Bhoys for the first time. COYBIG!
