Video: Birthday Bhoy – Kris Ajer

Signed by Ronny Deila in February 2016, Ajer took his time to breakthrough at Parkhead, learning his trade at Rugby Park during a loan move to Kilmarnock.

He made his debut during the 3-0 victory over Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar, which atoned for an embarrassing first leg defeat. Since then, he has established himself as an ever-present and a serial winner. His most notable recent contribution was the winning goal against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, which Neil Lennon later likened to Franz Beckenbauer: “He’s an outstanding footballer all round. He doesn’t see himself as a defender. He thinks he’s Franz Beckenbauer at times, but he’s got some great attributes. He was cool as a cucumber.”

The defender turns 22 today and you can see some of his high points at Celtic Park in the club’s video below:

INVINCIBLE by Matt Corr

Meanwhile The Celtic Star’s very own Matt Corr – who you may also know as a Tour Guide at Celtic Park – publishes his first Celtic book, titled INVINCIBLE – early next month. This beautiful hardback book will be the definitive story of Celtic’s magical2016-17 season – it truly is wonderful, a real joy to read, and brilliantly written by Matt.

If you have been reading Matt’s contributions on The Celtic Star or indeed in the Matchday Programme and the Celtic View you will know just how talented a Celtic writer he is. The book is published by The Celtic Star and you can pre-order below.
