CELTIC badly missed the talismanic frontman Odsonne Edouard versus Ferencvaros, so much so that Neil Lennon had to field a striker-less XI and the club were surprisingly dumped out the competition. Such was the attention that Edouard got at Tannadice a few weekends ago that he was forced to miss the second qualifying round versus the Hungarians but he also missed Sunday’s victory over Motherwell.
Fans and the club will have been delighted then to see the Frenchman make a return to training with France as he looks to hit the ground running on his return from International duty with the World Champions’ U21 side.
Edouard has been the subject of more interest following Celtic’s exit from the Champions League but he has said that he wants to win 10IAR. The club should reward him with a new deal that protects their investment in him and gives him a wage hike ahead of this season.
