Video: Brendan Rodgers chats with Yokohama counterpart Kevin Muscat

Brendan Rodgers was filmed chatting with Yokohama F. Marinos boss Kevin Muscat before the two men face-off against one another tomorrow morning at the Nissan Stadium. Former Australia international Muscat won the J-League with Marinos when he took over from Ange Postecoglou back in 2021, following his countryman’s move to Scotland.

Now the two sides will meet each other during Celtic’s Japan Tour and the game should be a good one. With our Japanese contingent having the chance to play in front of a home crowd, the excitement is building ahead of the match, with several of Celtic’s Asian imports sharing a Q&A with former icon, Shunsuke Nakamura.

Rodgers and Muscat will no doubt be talking all things football and picking the others brain about life at their respective club’s and such. Rodgers will have a showdown with the Aussie tomorrow then head for a fixture against Can be Osaka only a few days later. It will be a good test for his new Hoops team and will provide a good competitive standard whilst getting some much needed minutes in the legs.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
