YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE. Gerry and the Pacemakers’ 1960s classic has become the anthem of defiance in response to COVID-19’s grasp over Europe resulting in countries almost locking down to combat it.
Today, Celtic FC, Liverpool FC and Borussia Dortmund played their part along with a number of radio stations by broadcasting the anthem around Europe. Celtic Park, Anfield and Signal Iduna Park are used to having the anthem sang by passionate supporters before games but today, they were empty.
It was almost eery listening to it.
