Video: Celtic defender arrives in Israel to complete transfer

Hatem Abd Elhamed has arrived in Israel ahead of his proposed return to Hapoel Be’er Sheva. The 29-year-old will sign for the Israeli outfit for a reported £800k fee, rejoining HBS just eighteen months after leaving.

The right back wanted to leave the club in order to be near his family, who have been living back in Israel as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. You could see how much it meant to the player as he arrived back in Israel as he was greeted by his son. Elhamed has played but he has looked as if he was struggling with something on his mind and now it appears clear that he is missing his wife and young son.

Good luck, Hatem.

Celtic now are tasked with finding a new right back with Jeremie Frimpong departing last month in a deal worth £11.5m.
