Video: Celtic Fans During The Last Pre-Season That Celtic Weren’t Champions

For nine years Celtic had become used to winning league titles, cups and multiple trebles. That’s changed now and we go into pre-season as runners up for the first time in a decade. Expectations, hopes and fears are quite different – but one thing is the same, we all want the title back.

In July 2011, Neil Lennon’s Celtic team travelled to Firhill to play a friendly against Partick Thistle. The team had gone so close to the league title a few months earlier but ultimately lost out to Rangers by a point. They did take some consolation from winning the Scottish Cup though.

As the teams emerged, they were left in little doubt as to the backing they would receive from fans. The packed away end erupted and a super huddle was performed. It was electric.

If fans are allowed back to the football this summer, it’d be great to see these scenes replicated.
