Video: Celtic loanee Bayo scores again in France

Vakoun Issouf Bayo has scored again for Toulouse tonight, making it two goals in three games. The Celtic striker is on loan in France’s Ligue 2 and is due to return to Paradise if the option to buy is not taken up on him. Bayo arrives with a striker’s finish at the back post, showing a killer instinct as Toulouse won 3-0 to retain their position of third, meaning they will win promotion to Ligue 1.

Injuries hampered his progress in Glasgow with the 24-year-old missing preseason before returning to fitness in time to sign for the Ligue 2 side. The player was clearly not a Brendan Rodgers signing, which meant that he wasn’t integrated into the first team when he arrived. Injuries and a lack of match fitness meant that Neil Lennon didn’t have a chance to fully utilise him; however, Lennon appeared to give him a chance but Bayo didn’t appear a better option than Griffiths or Edouard.

8 in 29 league games… not exactly prolific. 2 in 3 implies that we’re actually missing him upfront, which we certainly aren’t.
