Video – Celtic loanee scores his first ever goal and it’s a belter

Bosun Lawal is on a season long loan deal from Celtic at Fleetwood Town, originally working with the former Celtic captain Scott Brown before he lost his job after a poor start to the season, amid behind the scenes turmoil at the club.

That hasn’t stopped Lawal making his mark for both the League One side and the Republic of Ireland Under 21s. Bosun had been training with the Celtic first team and has gone out to gain valuable experience and to play at a higher level that the Lowland league, which clearly has its limitations for players pushing towards the Celtic first team and with real aspirations of making the grade at the senior level.

If you are going to score your first ever goal in professional football it’s even better if it’s a belter and that’s exactly what Bosun Lawal delivered for Fleetwood Town in their 2-1 win away to Reading in what was a relegation dog-fight at the bottom of the table. The three points sees Fleetwood leapfrog Reading into third bottom with both still in the drop zone.
