Video: Celtic return from winter break and put down a marker

RUGBY PARK has been a notoriously tough place to visit following Steve Clarke’s appointment. The now Scottish manager was replaced by Alessio before Alex Dyer took over. Dyer’s teams, like Clarke’s, are determined and well-drilled. The prospect of a trip to Rugby Park to play Killie on a Wednesday night was a daunting one, considering Celtic’s last league outing was a defeat to Rangers.

Goals from Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Christopher Jullien helped Celtic win 3-1 as the reigning Champions extended their lead at the top of the table to two points. The game showcased Celtic’s ability to bounce back from a poor result as well as picking up a vital three points at at a tough away venue.

The game put down a marker that would result in Celtic opening up a huge 13 point gap over Gerrard’s side. The run that Neil Lennon’s side went on after the winter break was breathtaking and this performance was particularly impressive.
