Video: Celtic stars Ajer and Elyounoussi take part in Norway protest against the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

There’s been a feeling for a while that something would happen with the World Cup in Qatar next year and that it would eventually be moved, but it is likely to go ahead as we get closer.

FIFA have been hit with scandal after scandal since the award of the tournament and there’s been some serious worries about how Qatar are treating the workers at the stadiums which are being built for the tournament.

FIFA have tried to counter this by paying high profile ex players to go out to Qatar and take a guided tour before claiming that everything is fine, but it’s not really that convincing.

Norway have started to protest in recent weeks and they are taking this issue to the international stage, and Ajer and Elyounoussi took part in the protest before their game tonight:

Ultimately it’s going to take various major nations to speak out or boycott before anything will be done, but hopefully this is the start of something being done.
