Video: Celtic’s highlights On This Day over the years

On This Day in the illustrious, unbroken history of Celtic Football Club, there are a number of games to revisit down memory lane. Thanks to LilZe on Twitter, we are able to keep up to date with these games.

First in 2015, Celtic travelled up to Inverness. The game finished 1-1 with an early goal from Leigh Griffiths after just 3 minutes but ICT scored from the restart after just 4 mins.

In 2009, Celtic again scored early through Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink before being pegged back by Hearts. It was a blow that would partially result in Celtic losing the league to Rangers.

In 2004, Celtic dispatched Livingston 3-1 with a brace from Chris Sutton and a customary goal for the King of Kings.

In 1995, Celtic were again in Scottish Cup action – this time in a semi-final replay. Goals from Willie Falconer, John Collins and Phil O’Donnell won the game for Tommy Burns’ side at Ibrox.

In 1992, Celtic won 3-2 versus St Johnstone with a goal from Fulton and a brace from Nicholas being enough to split the sides at Celtic Park.

Another Scottish Cup match occurred on this day with Celtic playing Motherwell in the 1931 Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. In front of a 105,000 crowd, two late goals from the Celts forced a replay.
