Video: Celtic’s Scottish Cup Preparation at Lennoxtown, as Scott Bain eyes Five Straight Scottish Cup Wins

Celtic’s preparation for the Scottish Cup 3rd round tie against Falkirk at Celtic Park on Saturday evening has continued quietly in the background as best as possible really given the volume of players away on international duty.

Then there’s been the shock news that Scott Brown will leave the club at the end of the season to join Aberdeen on a two-year contract as a player/coach. And on top of that the managerial speculation has gone up a notch or two over the last few days and there appears to be a strong feeling developing that white smoke will be seen over Parkhead over the next day or two.

Yesterday Celtic TV released a video of the players not away on International duty working hard in training at Lennoxtown (see below) and current first pick goalkeeper Scott Bain has been speaking to the official club website about the importance of retaining the Scottish Cup for a record breaking fifth consecutive season.

“The international break gives the players at home time to work on areas that we want to address in preparation for these games coming up,” Scott Bain told the official Celtic website. “Now that the Scottish Cup is there to play for it gives us added motivation in these games. There’s not a league title to play for but we need to make sure our levels are as high as ever in these remaining league games so that translates over into the cup games.

“It’s very difficult to turn it off and on, you need to be at a high level constantly and keep the motivation at that level to keep going on the right path.”

Bain acknowledged Saturday’s match as the start of the journey, but said winning the cup would mean the world to him given how the rest of the season has unfolded.

The Celtic goalkeeper added: “We don’t want to give up any trophies easily so we’re determined to go in there and give a good account of ourselves.

“We know how important it is to win silverware at a club like Celtic. With the season not going the way we wanted it to go, this gives us a chance to give the fans something positive before the end of the season.”
