Video: Clips from Celtic v St Johnstone clashes over the years

Celtic today whetted the appetite for tomorrow afternoon, after posting a teaser video showing clips from St Johnstone matches gone by. The scene is set for Celtic to go into Christmas will a splendid lead in the Scottish Premiership and St Johnstone will no doubt want to make life as difficult as possible.

Livingston managed to do it the other evening and Celtic just didn’t have the same verve and energy that is so synonymous with Angeball since the 2021/22 season. But tomorrow afternoon there is a chance to right that wrong of Wednesday night and strike fear into the rest of the League.

Ange Postecoglou said in his media conference that he is looking to freshen the team up for the visit of Callum Davidson’s side and hopefully this gives us the impetus to go and impose our game more successfully than against the West Lothian club. We had plenty of chances yet only took the two – leading to an edgy finish.

Postecoglou and the supporters will be wanting the game sewn up far before the end on Saturday, avoiding any unnecessary heart palpatations along the way. A welcome return to Paradise would be completed with a Five Star performance from the Bhoys this weekend. Especially with the other team playing first.

In the meantime, take a look at some of these old games to get in the spirit…

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
