Video: Daizen Maeda pulls back the deficit before Bodo restore their lead

A poor night for Celtic was given an extremely temporary lifeline after a well-timed Daizen Maeda header halved the deficit to 1-2 against Bodo/Glimt – only for the Norwegians to restore their two-goal lead simply one minute later.

Celtic were 2-0 down to the Norwegian champions after what can only be described as a dismal attempt to break down their opponents under the lights at Parkhead.

Goals from Runar Espejord and Amahl Pellegrino gave the visitors a healthy lead after some horrific defending – especially from Greg Taylor – before a Josip Juranovic cross was nodded home by the January signing from Japan.

However, with any sort of hope in the game restored, Bodo/Glimt midfielder Hugo Vetlesen shocked the Celts with a long range strike that completely bamboozled Joe Hart, sailing over his head to see some of the Celtic Park faithful leave their seats with home being the desired destination.
