Celtic are ahead within just 21 seconds at Ibrox after a spectacular goal from Daizen Maeda. Joe Hart cleared the ball with a long kick, which curled in the wind towards the Rangers skipper James Tavernier. The Englishman didn’t realise that Maeda was on his tail, pressing relentlessly.
Tavernier appeared to try to clear the ball only to fire it into Maeda, who powered the shot beyond Jack Butland. It was utterly bizarre but what a start for Celtic at the home of their fierce rivals in this game.
