Video: Dane Murray nightmare continues as Hearts score twice

Dane Murray is having an afternoon to forget in the Hoops. After being given the nod ahead of Auston Trusty in the centre of defence.

After a catastrophic own goal, it had been hoped that the 22-year-old may have banished the first half demons. Unfortunately, in the early stages of the second half, Murray pulled away from a Kyziridis strike before giving away a penalty.

Celtic now need to rally and dig deep if they are to salvage something. However, the hosts will be sure they have enough to see out the game and eight points clear at the top of the table.

  1. Where the hell did celtic get nygren from
How many chances has he wasted from good crosses and passes, I said long ago Celtic should have gone for Simon Murray from Dundee. A far better striker than anything on offer.
Celtic are not going to win anything this season.
Teams have caught on, take McGregor out of the game and nothing happens.
It’s time for a change as McGregor cant di everything on his own.
Having said that Hearts will get injuries and have a lull but can Celtic take advantage, after today’s showing its doubtful

  2. FFS! I didn’t think it was possible. But Celtic went from Honda Civic to Robin Reliant.

Dane Murray was the main reason we lost that game.

Nygren missing a relative sitter didn’t help much either but Murray was the villain of the piece.

  3. Brendan lost for words in Sky interview after the game —He doesn’t seam to know how Celtic have lost their MOJO . Well let me help you Brendan :-
    1) No disrespect to the following but they are never , in a million years what used to be called “Celtic Class” . They are :- Donovan , Murray , Kenny , Nygren (Hatate , whom BR . selects in every game ) .When was the last time he scored or changed the pattern of the game ? Add to that , the fact that Tierney’s best days are well behind him and there goes half of your team .
    1) You leave experienced players on the bench in favour of :- Donovan & Murray in a game which could decide the League Title . Ralston & Trusty even on a bad day are more experienced and should have been playing not warming the bench .
    2) We are being out- muscled in mid-field because like Tierney , McGregor has seen better days , although still a great player , if used mainly as a play-maker and Not a “Work-horse” as is happening under your command .
    3) Even the worst Celtic teams on record could always score GOALS . Wednesday night , against Sturm Graz was the first time we have scored from corner- kick in about two seasons . So we badly need a striker or other players who can score headed goals . Celtic get at least 10 to 15 corners in every match .
    4) Try changing tactics during games Brendan—Even switching wingers for 10 minutes or so during games ,
when things aren’t going too well , would show that you and your Back-room staff are still awake ?
    5) Also , it would be interesting to find out what your Back-room staff actually do ? Since we cannot SHOOT ,
score penalties and head the ball ?
I hope this helps to solve your problems Brendan . All blame can’t be put on the Board .
All the blame cannot be put on the players nor the supporters —-So where do you think the problem lies ????

  4. I’ve raised this before but Murray is a serial offender for conceding a goal/s per game due to schoolboy errors caught asleep at the wheel. Just watch this howler in his loan spell at Queen’s Park last December when he failed to play to the whistle at 5:52 minutes:

If the management can’t coach this out of him they should not be in a job. It’s not inexperience, just competence lacking in most of the regular experienced players too – McGregor should not be ‘holding’ for the entire midfield, forward line and defence to the detriment of his natural goalscoring ability as he did yeasterday. Those calling for Ralston to return need their heads examined – Donovan has been our best player last 2 games.
