It has been sixteen months overdue, but finally Celtic have scored in front of their 60,000 adoring fans – and what a goal it was.
The side have been playing fluid football all night, with Kyogo Furuhashi deserving of at least one goal as he was wrongly ruled out by the assistant to open the scoring. The Celtic crowd didn’t care, though, and almost inevitably they sucked the ball into the net – with Turnbull the recipient. It simply felt like a matter of when, not if.
Some superb interplay in the middle set Ryan Christie free down the left hand side, and after a failed pass to Turnbull, Greg Taylor did superbly to mop up the pieces and set the already advanced Turnbull in – who finished deftly with the outside of his right boot to send Celtic Park into raptures.
More of the same, Celtic – this is luxury football at its finest!
