Derek Riordan has suggested that an Only an Excuse clip from 2007 sums up his Celtic career under Gordon Strachan. Signed from Hibs, Riordan was seen as Scotland’s next big talent; however, the Edinburgh-born striker was never one of the manager’s favourites.
What does Derek Riordan think of the @JohnnieWatson23 OAE #Celtic sketch that reappeared on WhatsApp?

Speaking to David Tanner, Riordan said that the clip didn’t bother him as it summed up what was going on between the ex-Hibs striker and Strachan. Riordan probably didn’t fit into Strachan’s mould of a professional and his career following Celtic suggest that Strachan might’ve been right.
Riordan scored 8 goals for Celtic in 32 appearances across just over two seasons. Strachan meanwhile won three-in-a-row and qualified for the Champions League Last 16 twice.
