Video: Every save from Fraser Forster as Celtic beat Rangers in League Cup Final

On This Day in 2019, Fraser Forster was the hero as Celtic won the League Cup by beating Rangers 1-0 at Hampden. Celtic won through a Christopher Jullien goal but it was the man at the other end of the pitch that had to be thanked for an incredible performance across 90 minutes.

The Englishman rejoined the club in August 2019 in a loan deal from Southampton and quickly became number one with the player rediscovering his best form.

Not only did Forster make at least a dozen impressive stops that were goalbound, he also saved Morelos’ penalty as the Celts made it a 10th trophy in a row.

It was a difficult game for Celtic but they managed to see out the onslaught from Gerrard’s team, take their chances and take the trophy back to Paradise. Unfortunately, it was a sign of what was to come the following season as Rangers appeared to have a way to play against Lennon’s Celtic, which needed support.
