Video: Ex-Celtic defender impresses in England with goal saving tackle vs Liverpool

Former Celtic defender Kris Ajer is gaining plaudits for his performances for Brentford in the Premier League. The 23-year-old Norwegian signed for the newly-promoted side in the summer as Celtic pocketed £17.5m for the center-back.

In last night’s enthralling game between Liverpool and Brentford, Ajer slid in brilliantly to deny Mo Salah an early opener. The Egyptian forward knocked the ball beyond the goalkeeper only for Ajer to race back and clear the ball off the line.

It is positive to see the player enjoying life in England after making 176 appearances for Celtic. The central defender was impressive for the club for a number of seasons but a parting of the ways was inevitable with the player having just a year remaining on his deal.
