Video: First half flash point as Cameron Carter-Vickers incident penalty by VAR

Celtic are currently level at the break at Dens Park in the Boxing Day fixture. The Scottish Champions have been the better team and should really be ahead, which is supported by 1.68 xG. However, a number of chances have been spurned.

There was a first half flashpoint that seemed to be missed by the officials- when Trevor Carson and Joe Shaughnesey grappled Celtic’s Cameron Carter-Vickers as a corner came in.

It seemed as if it should have been a stick on for a penalty when watching it again. However, the officials did not seem to check it.

Carson is lucky not to have been cautioned as he lashed out at CCV even after the incident.

Celtic will need to convert their chances and put the game out of reach of the hosts.

  1. This incident at the corner was one of many. All of them should have been penalties for holding CCV and Welsh with both arms at the corner

  2. Carson has shown himself up today as has his helpful defensive partner.
The referee and linesman must be bent (or thick) if they did not see that as a penalty.
    Typical in auld Scotia.

  3. Carson should be thoroughly ashamed, however, I doubt he has sufficient intelligence to be aware of his deficiencies.
