Within five minutes of his Celtic farewell, Hartson scored a header from close range after Aiden McGeady’s venomous strike rattled the bar. Maloney made it 2-0 from a counteract as Celtic cleared their lines with a boot up the park.
The Dons substitute John Stewart scored twice in quick succession to give the Pittodrie side a point as Celtic squandered a late chance to win the game.

Hartson would bow out with 109 goals in 210 appearances. In his time at Celtic Park, the Welshman would leave Paradise with three league titles, two Scottish Cups and one Scottish League Cup.
