There’s further heartache for Scotland as Patrik Schick picks up from Jack Henry’s error to embarrass David Marshall from 45 yards with the goalkeeper probably guilty of being too far out of his goal. What a finish though from the big Czech striker – an absolutely world class finish but a real sucker punch for Steve Clarke’s side who had started the second half so promisingly, with Hendry smashing a shot against the cross bar.
Stuart Armstrong almost pulled one back for Scotland but his deflected shot landed on the roof of the net. James Forrest looked impressive when he came on and almost pulled one back but his goal-bound effort was blocked. It finished Scotland 0 Czech Republic 2…
WHAT. A. GOAL.

A rank average Czech side should never have been able to take 3 points from Hampden, but Scotland did all they could to ensure it happened. James Forrest and Calmac should’ve started the match without a doubt and Leigh Griffiths ought to be disgusted with his inability to make the squad due to his unprofessionalism. 3 points thrown away Scotland. You’re now all but out of the tournament after the first game.
