Check out the highlights from Celtic FC Women’s 3-0 win up at Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon. The early stages of the match saw Celtic captain for the day Caitlin Hayes suffer a bad head injury, taking a boot to the head and cauing much distress among the players, so much so that Clarissa Larisey missed the resulting penalty, failing to hit the target.
The Canada international striker though was causing the Aberdeen defence all sorts of bother with her superior pace and quality and it was Larisey who grabbed the opening goal. In truth she probably should have had a first half hat-trick and she’ll know that herself as she chases down the 40 goal season achieved by Charlie Wellings last season.
Fran Alonso admitted afterwards that the points weren’t in the bag until his side found the net for a second time and that happened on the 75th minute when Jacynta found the top corner from the edge of the area. And Lucy Ashworth-Clifford had the easiest of tasks moments later tappin in to make the final score Aberdeen 0 Celtic 3.
A mention for substitute Amy Gallacher for her two second half assists and those front two of Celtic – Larisey and Jacynta – are looking unstoppage this season. Enjoy the hightlights below and get well soon Caitlin!
