Video: Highlights of Griffiths’ Hattrick as Celtic Hit Five to Go 16 Points Clear

Celtic went 16 points clear after Neil Lennon’s side soundly defeated St Mirren 5-0.

Celtic got the opening goal with 18 minutes on the clock. Odsonne Edouard picked the ball up at the edge of the box and floated a tantalising ball to the back post, where Griffiths arrived to score the simple tap in.

Griffiths made it 2-0 just before the break. Nir Bitton played it to Griffiths at the edge of the box, who made his way into the box before playing the ball to Tom Rogic who’s deft pass round the corner put Griff 1v1 and he made no mistake.

The league top scorer Odsonne Edouard received the ball from strike partner turned and passed a shot into the corner.

With two strikes in the first half giving Celtic a lead, the 28-year old would’ve been hungry for a third and he managed to get it, taking a James Forrest pass, getting it out his feet before striking it into the corner.

A comprehensive win over St Mirren was topped off by a Callum McGregor penalty.

Hatem Abd Elhamed was brought down in the box and McGregor took the ball before smashing it into the net.

Rangers play tomorrow with a chance to eat into that lead before the side’s meet at Ibrox next Sunday.
