Good to see former Celts Lewis Morgan and Patryk Klimala doing so well at the New York Red Bulls. Have a look at the video below showing Morgan netting a pretty impressive hat-trick…
“I knew when I had two, I was going to get three.” – Lewis Morgan said afterwards looking back on his hat-trick in the 4-1 win at Toronto.
It’s fair to say that neither player hit the heights at Celtic, probably a case for both of right club but at the wrong time. Morgan never looked like the kind of player who was going to get a hat-trick for us while Klimala probably wasn’t given enough of an opportunity and took the chance to head stateside to get playing time and further his career.
Both former Bhoys have done really well over there and with the free scoring New York Red Bulls getting off to a tremendous start with two away wins on the bounce it could well be a special year for these two former Celtic forwards…

Seven goals through our first two games is the most goals in the opening two matches of a season in franchise history. pic.twitter.com/SXJ7e4SSeC

With their 4-1 victory today, the @NewYorkRedBulls became the 12th team in @MLS history to start a season 2-0-0 after beginning the previous season 0-2-0 and the first since @SoundersFC and @TorontoFC in 2019. That season, Seattle and Toronto squared off in the 2019 MLS Cup. pic.twitter.com/tnnQ6IPZHi
