Video: Ibrox turns Green and White as Larsson inspires League Cup win

Twenty-four years ago today, Celtic lifted the League Cup after a comprehensive 3-0 win over Dundee United at Ibrox. Wim Jansen tasted his first piece of silverware in the 1997/98 season, which ended an enormous wait for the trophy, with the last win coming in the 1982/83 season.

Goals from Rieper, Larsson and Burley sealed the win as Ibrox turned Green and White for the League Cup winners as the club enjoyed some well-earned success. It would also give Celtic the belief to go on and win the league after what had been a tough start to the season.

Celtic: Gould, Boyd, Mahe, McNamara (Annoni 90), Rieper, Stubbs, Larsson, Burley, Thom (Donnelly 80), Wieghorst, Blinker (Lambert 88).
Goals: Rieper 21, Larsson 24, Burley 59 .
