Video: If Ange left Celtic, Martin O’Neill would be happy to step in

Celtic legend, Martin O’Neill has stated that in the highly unlikely event that Ange Postecoglou abruptly left Paradise, he would be interested in taking the reins at Celtic for a couple of games, as a caretaker manager.

Speaking to Daily Record, O’Neil was asked whether he would be interested in re-joining the club temporarily as a care-taker manager, in the unlikely Ange left his role at Celtic. O’Neil believes that this scenario is very far-fetched as he doesn’t think Ange will be out of the picture any time soon. Anyway, if that were to happen, O’Neil said he would love to reprise his role at Celtic for a couple of fixtures.

However it’s worth noting that the Record appear to have this on their wish-list and given the success of the Celtic manager – who one of their sister paper’s columnists dubbed as Absolutely Not Good Enough when he arrived at Celtic – you can understand why they’d like to see the back of Big Ange as soon as possible. The bad news for them is that Ange is here for the long term as he eyes domestic glory and establishing his Celtic team in the Champions League.
